OderZusammen – OdraRazem

Analyses and solutions for the cross-border management of water quality, biodiversity, fisheries, and other ecosystem services

The Oder is more than a border. It is a living link between Poland and Germany. Yet extreme events such as floods, droughts, and the devastating algal bloom of summer 2022 are placing increasing pressure on both the river and the region. In the EU-funded INTERREG project OderZusammen – OdraRazem, a transnational research team from Poland and Germany is tackling these challenges head-on. Through collaboration with one another and with regional stakeholders, the researchers are working to identify sustainable solutions for safeguarding water quality, biodiversity, and ecosystem services. Launched in October 2025, the project demonstrates how cross-border cooperation can help shape the future of a river system.
