WP5 – Management scenarios

Comparing Scenarios for Improving Oder River Management

Building on the findings of Work Packages 1 to 4, we will compare the impacts of alternative management measures on water quality, fish biodiversity, fisheries, and other cultural ecosystem services under plausible climate and environmental scenarios. In doing so, we aim to help water managers and stakeholders better understand how these aspects are interconnected and how they are affected by different river management measures and scenarios.

Alternative scenarios will be developed collaboratively and subsequently compared in a series of workshops. This process will provide an opportunity to further test the tools developed in the earlier work packages and to identify potential management strategies for the future. The analysis will focus on the pilot section of the Middle Oder within the programme area, while also considering the wider region.
